Canaan Site Furnishings manufacture site furnitures that maintain its workmanship and finishing with proper upkeep. Canaan provides site furnishings with minimal maintenance and we also give you tips on how to care for your furnishings to keep them looking new.

General

To ensure the durability and longevity of our site furniture, an annual or semi-annual inspection is strongly recommended. Check for any loose or missing hardware and make sure your product is secure if surface mounted. If any part of the furniture is cracked, broken, or show excessive wear, such furniture should be taken out of service until all repairs are made.

Powder-Coated Metal Products

Powder-coated aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, steel and all other powder-coated metals can be cleaned as needed using a soft brush or cloth with warm water and mild detergent. To maintain the luster on products, you may also use wax which can be found at local automotive stores. Graffiti may be removed with lacquer thinner. Minor damage to the finish may be remedied with colour-matched touch-up paint. To request for touch up paint, call 1-877-305-6638 or email to sales@canaansf.com.

Avoid using any type of pressure sprayers, power washers, harsh abrasives, acids or chlorine based cleaners or cleaning tools containing carbon steel, such as steel wool or wire brushes. This may lead to rust and cause permanent damage on the powder coat finish.

Stainless Steel Products

Fingerprints and smudges can be removed using a non chlorinated spray cleaner or degreaser mixed with water and a damp cloth. Do not use harsh abrasives, acids or chlorine-based cleaners or cleaning tools containing carbon steel, such as steel wool or wire brushes.

Recycled Plastic Products

Recycled plastic lumber (RPL) requires minimal care and maintenance and does not require regular painting or staining. While they do not scuff, they can be cut by sharp objects dragged across the surface. Because our colour is throughout, scratches do not appear noticeable. If you wish to eliminate minor scratches, it can be achieved by hand sanding with fine-grade sandpaper.
