The Eglinton Crosstown LRT (Line 5) represents one of the most significant infrastructure investments in Toronto’s history. Spanning 19 kilometers across the heart of the city, this light rail line aims to reduce travel times and transform the commuter experience. A vital part of this transformation is the creation of comfortable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing station environments.
Canaan Site Furnishings is proud to have contributed to this landmark project, providing high-durability transit furniture across multiple key stations to ensure passenger comfort and station cleanliness.
Strategic Collaboration for Urban Design
Working alongside project partners and transit authorities, Canaan focused on delivering site furniture that meets the rigorous demands of high-traffic transit hubs. Our goal was to harmonize modern design with extreme durability, ensuring that every bench, bike rack, and waste receptacle could withstand both the Canadian climate and the daily flow of thousands of commuters.
Station-Specific Installations
We provided a tailored mix of benches, bicycle racks, and waste receptacles to meet the specific needs of each location. Our work can be found at the following stations along the line:
Mount Dennis, Keelesdale, Caledonia, Fairbank, Oakwood, Cedarvale, Forest Hill, Chaplin, Avenue, Eglinton, Mount Pleasant, Leaside, Laird, Sunnybrook Park, Aga Khan Park & Museum, Don Valley, Kennedy
